On day 79 of crossing America barefoot I travelled from Sacred Water Camp to Water is Life Camp back to Sacred Water Camp...

After I woke up a guy named Chris told me about a german scientist who could make rain clouds in the midwest.

Obviously the government killed this guy.

I went swimming in the Suwannee River.

There were a lot of fish trying to nibble on the sunlight.

The entire sacred water camp drove thirty miles south to another water protector camp called water is life.

If there was a water protector camp every thirty miles maybe all the water wouldn’t be in danger of getting killed.

We passed a large machine doing holes in the ground for a pipe.

In case you forgot it’s insane that people with money want to stick pipes in the ground and then fill the pipes with oil and gas.

At the water is life camp I met two people who knew some of the people in the FANG Collective because they once gave someone in FANG a dog.

It’s nice when the people you meet know the people you already know.

Someone from Earth First led a direct action training.

We had to pretend we were a pipeline and destroy the earth. Then we had to pretend to be earth and get destroyed.

The person leading the training said once in the 70’s a group took some people from the EPA hostage until their demands were met and ultimately the demands were met.

Take all the oil people hostage until the world forgets what oil is.

I rode back to the Sacred Water Camp in a van. It was about thirty degrees at the camp. I was still in shorts and barefoot. For dinner I ate three bowls of rice.

It’s been years since I’ve worn shoes and eaten rice.

As I climbed into bed I got a little sad it would be my last night in the camp.

Please donate. I am raising awareness about climate change with this walk. All the money raised goes to a great environmental organization called the FANG Collective: youcaring.com/barefoot

What I ate on day 79: Bananas, apples, a rice cake, salad, and some bowls of rice.

A poem

A hole / gets dug / for / a pipe / but / three hundred thousand children / throw toy unicorns / in the hole / a specialist / is hired / to extract / the toys / he does / and / only loses one limb / in the process / the hole / is empty / again / three hundred thousand / more / children / throw used birthday candles / in the hole / they are removed / the specialist / loses another / limb / in the fire / one birthday candle / was still burning / the hole / is empty / again / three hundred thousand / children / born / inside / a dead volcano / each throw / a nickel / in the hole / the specialist / tries to empty / the nickels/ from the hole / but / the hole / likes the nickels / and / wants to donate / them / to a non-profit/ who saves holes / from pipes / the specialist / tries / but / loses / he has no more / limbs / everyone cheers / the hole / tosses some nickels / in the air
